Specific DBQ for PTSD vs other MH disorders
Main Post:
I went through a private dr for a MH evaluation that resulted in a PTSD diagnoses. I requested a DBQ and yesterday received the draft form but the header of the DBQ says for “mental health disorders other than PTSD”. In the body of the DBQ the Dr. specifically says I’ve been diagnosed with PTSD but the form seems to indicate it’s the wrong DBQ form.
Is there a different, specific DBQ this Dr. should have filled out for PTSD or does it not matter? Looking through Reddit where people displayed their DBQs it seemed there is difference in some of the questions. Just wondering if I need to go back and ask for a correction. Thanks!

The Initial PTSD DBQ is not publicly available and only a VA medical professional or VA contracted medical professional can complete the initial DBQ.
There is a Review PTSD DBQ on the VA website that your private doctor can complete to outline symptom severity.
Sleep Disorders in Older People
Main Post:
Do you know sleep is essential to good health, but can often prove challenging for older adults in this modern society in 2023?
Sleep issues like insomnia, chronic sleep loss and sleep apnea can create serious health issues in older people such as memory, attention and cognitive decline as well as depression, fatigue and mood disorders, not to mention an increase in disease risks.
Insomnia is one of the most prevalent sleep issues among older adults and may increase as they get older. Studies have revealed that up to 25% of adults over 65 years old exhibit symptoms of insomnia.
Sleep is essential to both physical and mental wellbeing, helping reduce risks such as heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, depression and cancer. If you are having difficulty falling asleep or staying awake during the night it's time to consult with a healthcare provider regarding potential solutions.
Age-related changes to your body's internal clock can cause chronic sleeping problems known as circadian rhythm sleep disorder (CRSWD). CRSWDs come in three varieties - delayed sleep-wake phase disorder, advanced sleep-wake phase disorder and irregular sleep-wake phase disorder.
Sleep disturbances for older adults can include restless leg syndrome (RLS), narcolepsy and REM behavior disorder (RBD). Each of these sleep disorders can alter a regular sleep-wake cycle, making it hard for older adults to sleep soundly through the night.
Medication used to treat mental disorders, like depression or anxiety, may also have serious side effects on sleep quality. These drugs can disrupt your natural sleep-wake cycle and make you more susceptible to awakening early each morning. If your primary care provider cannot determine why this may be happening to you, they may refer you to a specialist in elderly psychiatry or sleep medicine for assistance in diagnosing what's causing these issues.
Non-pharmacological interventions can also help you sleep better. Cognitive behavioral therapy teaches how to challenge any negative beliefs regarding sleeping, as well as ways to establish healthy sleeping patterns. Multiple studies have confirmed the efficacy of behavioral interventions on improving insomnia among elderly patients more successfully than medication alone.
Some interventions can be conducted from the comfort of your own home. For instance, using a light box or timed exposure to bright lights before bedtime to stimulate brain serotonin production is one such technique.
One way to promote better sleep is to exercise regularly and avoid stimulating substances like alcohol or caffeine just before bedtime, both of which have the ability to negatively affect quality sleep.
An effective way to monitor and diagnose sleep disturbances, insomnia or any other sleeping issues is keeping a sleep diary. A diary also allows you to see how your sleeping patterns have changed with age, which may help shed some light on why it may be difficult for you to fall or remain asleep.
It is essential to determine whether the sleep problem is indeed due to a sleep disorder. If that is indeed the case, the next step should be identifying which kind of disorder has developed.
If doctor determines that the elderly does have a sleep disorder, they will prescribe sleeping medications such as sedatives or anti-hypnotics to address it. Depending on the severity of the sleep issues, multiple medications may be needed in order to achieve an ideal level of good quality sleep. You can also contact The Air Station in Singapore for a home based sleep study and obstructive sleep apnea treatment with CPAP machines (continuous positive airway pressure machines), such as AirSense 10 Autoset and AirMini CPAP machines by ResMed, if you or an elderly has sleep apnea or other sleep disorder conditions.

I think I may be the only person to have the sleep problem that I have, but if anyone else has it, please reply. Every night, I dream often, not scary dreams, but dreams of normal things happening. After each dream, I wake up with extremely loud ear ringing, a flutter in my upper stomach area, faster than normal pulse, and snowy vision. These feelings will last from 15 seconds to 15 minutes. Here’s a crazy thing; I can grip my risk and count my pulse, and the episode will be shorter. Or maybe it just seems to help. The ear ringing will often pulse at about 5 to 10 second intervals. After the episode, I can usually go back to sleep within 30 minutes. These episodes happen from 3 to 6 times each night, and this has been going on for about 5 years. I have consulted with several doctors and none of them has a solution. My cardiologist put a halter monitor on me to wear several days and nights. The monitor only showed a rise in heart rate during an episode and nothing else out of the ordinary.

What job would suit an introvert?
Main Post:
What do you think would suit an introvert.
Top Comment:
Where social interaction is meaningful, purposeful, not the point of the job itself.
It might be surprising but jobs like counseling, sales, teaching one on one, are good choices. Also many actors, musicians are introverted.
(People tend to confuse introversion with social anxiety and other disorders, especially on Reddit.)
